The programme aimed to educate freshers about the harmful effects of drug abuse on health, academics, and personal life, and to promote a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. Dr. Abinav, DSMC, Perambalur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered an insightful talk on the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug addiction. He also explained the legal implications and emphasized the importance of staying away from intoxicants to achieve academic and personal success. Faculty members and resource persons conducted interactive sessions, sharing strategies for stress management, peer support, and making positive life choices. The programme highlighted the universitys commitment to maintaining a drug-free campus and encouraged students to be responsible, self-aware, and supportive of their peers. This initiative empowered freshers with knowledge and awareness to make informed decisions and lead a healthy, productive academic life.

The programme aimed to create awareness among freshers about the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. Mr. A. Arokia Raj, DSP, Perambalur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and addressed the students on the legal provisions against ragging, university policies, and the strict disciplinary actions that would be taken in case of any violation. He highlighted the psychological and social impacts of ragging and encouraged students to build healthy peer relationships based on mutual respect and understanding. Faculty members and resource persons further elaborated on the mechanisms for reporting incidents and seeking support through interactive sessions. The awareness programme emphasized the universitys zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and motivated students to uphold values of friendship, harmony, and cooperation. This initiative helped freshers feel secure and confident as they began their academic journey in a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
The School of Agricultural Sciences, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Perambalur, organized an Ice-Breaking Session for Freshers through an educational visit to the Grand Anaicut (Kallanai), Trichy on 16.09.2025 for the I Year, Bsc., (Hons.), 2025 Batch. The program aimed to foster interaction, team spirit, and bonding among the new students while providing them with practical exposure to traditional water management and irrigation systems. The historic Kallanai, constructed across the Cauvery River, stands as a remarkable example of ancient engineering and continues to play a vital role in irrigation across the delta region. During the visit, students engaged in interactive discussions and group activities while learning about methods of water conservation, canal irrigation systems, and distribution networks that have sustained agriculture in Tamil Nadu for centuries. Dr. N. Arivukkumar, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) and Ms.Sathvika, Assistant professor (Agrl. Extension) explained the significance of Kallanai in managing river water for irrigation and ecological balance. This ice-breaking field trip not only enriched students understanding of sustainable water resource management but also created a friendly and collaborative environment, helping freshers connect with their peers and faculty in an inspiring natural setting.
